EPAM Systems — since Nov 2025

Pritam Mukherjee

Software Engineer / Agent Systems

I build agentic systems — LangGraph orchestration, retrieval and knowledge engineering, and the deployment harnesses that keep them honest in production. Before agents: Go API servers, message-queue pipelines, and two national hackathon wins.

What I'm building now

Agent orchestration graphAn input feeds a router which branches on tool choice: the active path calls a tool and loops back, the inactive path replies directly.
01 — ROUTING

Agent Orchestration

Multi-step agent graphs in LangGraph, rather than one-shot prompts.

  • LangGraph
  • State machines
  • Tool routing
Retrieval pipelineFour layers, bottom to top: Documents, Chunks, Vector index, Retrieval.
02 — RETRIEVAL

RAG & Knowledge Engineering

Retrieval pipelines and the knowledge modelling that makes a corpus answerable.

  • Retrieval
  • Chunking
  • Knowledge modelling
Deployed agent servicesAn API, a worker running the agent loop and a trace store, all on one container runtime, with a request traced across them.
03 — RUNTIME

AgentOps & Deployments

Shipping agents as deployed services, with the operational tooling around them.

  • Deployment
  • Tracing
  • Observability
Evaluation harness results22 of 24 evaluation cases passing; failures stand out as tall columns.
04 — EVALS

Harness Engineering

Harnesses that exercise and evaluate agent behaviour.

  • Regression

Experience

  1. Nov 2025 — Present

    Current

    Software Engineer

    EPAM Systems

    • Agent engineering: multi-step agent pipelines built with LangGraph.
    • RAG and knowledge-engineering workflows over domain corpora.
    • Evaluation harnesses and the AgentOps tooling around deployment and observability.
  2. 2024 — 2025

    Backend Development Engineer

    LeadGPT

    • Fixed critical failures in the email delivery pipeline — a mission-critical path for the business.
    • Architected an email reply-detection system and the data-backed analytics around it.
    • Split the monolith toward microservices with RabbitMQ, and set up CI/CD on Docker Swarm.
  3. 2023

    Frontend Developer, Internship

    AICTE

    • Built a full-spec desktop application end-to-end in React and Electron.
    • Designed and shipped the reusable UI component set.
    • Deployed as a Docker monorepo alongside the backend with continuous delivery.
    • Awarded the internship for winning Smart India Hackathon 2023.

Awards

  • Smart India Hackathon — Winner

    2023

Co-led the team to a national win. Led four engineers on the React and Electron frontend, and built the video conferencing layer on WebRTC and SFUs.

  • KAVACH Cybersecurity Hackathon — Winner

    2023

Built the entire backend — API and WebSocket servers — single-handedly, plus a CVSS vulnerability scanner pulling periodically from the NVD database. Shipped a live MVP.
